Many of New York’s eviction moratoriums are coming to an end on January 15th, 2022.

This will affect New Yorkers who are in arrears with their landlords or mortgage companies.  The question is no longer “Will there be another extension on the moratorium?” but rather “What will happen if hundreds of thousands of individuals lose their homes?”

Additionally, any commercial tenants who are also in arrears can expect their landlords to begin or continue eviction actions.

If you are currently in default or have rental arrears, it is important to seek all options that may be available to you. These options include, but are not limited to bankruptcy, loan modification, refinance, and negotiations.

If you are currently in this situation and would like to seek help, call us at (718) 539-1100 or email us at info@jcklaw.com
